Stretching: the missing link to total wellness

In looking at our bodies not just as a tangible form of flesh, but as an energy form, we learn to appreciate the energy that we are made up of, and how it can be transformed. Energy cannot be destroyed, but it can be transferred. The muscles in your body are a mirror of your mind. Your body stores the energy as it is created by the mind, and your muscles are the blueprint for your thoughts and mental attitudes.

Exercise and stretching create opportunities for enlightenment and a sense of awareness of self because the biology of the physical overrides the psychology of the mind in that moment. This is why you feel so "light" and relaxed after a workout. Stretching is an important and effective way of learning and paying attention to whatever issue is manifesting in the body.

STATIC STRETCHING - stretches are held for up to 30 seconds

DYNAMIC STRETCHING - Dynamic stretching consists of controlled leg and arm swings that take you (gently!) to the limits of your range of motion for less than three seconds at a time.

NEUROMUSCULAR MOBILISATION - A thorough method of assisted rehabilitation for people suffering from acute and chronic pain. It uses specific soft tissue manipulation techniques (massage), flexibility stretching and joint mobilisation.

DIRECT PRESSURE - A post-event therapeutic massage technique which reduces the risk of stimulating muscle cramps.
