Clinics touting this plan are popping up across the country and in Southwest Florida. But the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin injections are not approved by the FDA and studies show they don't work.
The Mayo Clinic doesn't recommend it and we found studies showing patients injected with a placebo lost the same amount of weight as patients injected with HCG - when all were on the same diet.
